Evidence shows that excellent attendance is key to ensuring positive outcomes and improving the overall life chances for children and young people. Missing primary school leaves children vulnerable to falling behind and achieving poorer outcomes at secondary level as well as post 16 choices and outcomes.
The table below shows the number of days off for each equivalent %.
Examples
If your child misses 11 days of school their attendance will drop to 94%. This is a cause for concern.
If your child misses 17 days or more of school their attendance will drop below 92%. This is a cause for serious concern.
